Healing During My Cancer Treatment

I was determined to give my body the best possible chance of success. I focused on eating highly nutrition foods, got plenty of rest and did some form of light exercise daily. I took time off work to heal. I meditated, focused on positive visualisation, had crystal bed sessions along with acupuncture, reiki, chiropractic treatments, read books about healing and overcoming cancer.

My Mum and her friends also said a million ‘Hail Marys’ for me. I definitely felt the ‘power of prayer’ and support. I know the treatment from Peter Mac healed my body but I also know everything else I did, along with the love, prayers and support helped to heal me too.

I believed I would be healed which I think made a huge difference. I did have moments of complete fear and ‘Oh my God I cannot believe I have terminal cancer and am going to die’ but most of the time I felt amazing. Focusing on mind, body and soul to heal or a more holistic approach to healing felt so right. Getting rid of the fear of cancer by reading about positive stories filled me with hope. Hope is so important when things look grim!

Cancer does not have to be a death sentence. We only seem to hear about the horror stories so the word ‘cancer’ has become synonymous with pain and death. With a healthy lifestyle, which involves mind, body and soul, I believe we can keep our immune system strong and prevent many cancers and other diseases from developing.

I am amazed at the resilience of the human body and its ability to heal. I have more respect for my body than ever. I truly believe our bodies are amazing healing machines if we give them the love and attention they deserve.

I am so grateful for the immune boosting treatment I was blessed to have, the team at Peter Mac and all the people involved in research, treatment and fundraising. Thank you also to my wonderful family and support team! I am eternally grateful.

It will be wonderful one day to see immune therapy being available to all who need it and better still the day when cancer and other diseases no longer exist. In the interim there are so many things we can do to support our immune systems and to live a healthier and happier life.
